Suerte\u2019s owner had precise ideas how his yacht should look like and Tankoa made the most to combine her owner\u2019s and our requests with technical aspects. I can really say a perfect team work was created among all people working at this yacht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The owner wanted a contemporary yet timeless yacht. It was achieved through an accurate combination of curved and clear lines for the exterior while the layout was focused on large social areas inside and outside for long, relaxing holidays and family time to be attended by guests during day time: the large table for 16 aft on the upper deck or the living on the main deck for 20, the TV & cinema room, the touch-and-go helicopter platform which can be used at night as a disco, the pool at the bar counter equipped with few underwater stools to offer the opportunity to drink while sitting into the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A couple of technical issues were fundamental to find the best combination between aesthetic and function. Suerte\u2019s owner liked to have a family cinema and TV room. It\u2019s a kind of space which needs to be protected from too much light. As the area of the main deck forward the bar didn\u2019t get too much light, it appeared to be the best place for the TV room as this combined a technical issue – technical equipment is installed along the boat side walls \u2013 with the owner\u2019s request. The same occurred for the central block on the upper deck which hides technical equipment. The technical issue was the starting point to design different functional spaces around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Privacy was essential: the owner\u2019s area is completely separated on the upper deck, equipped with a private pool, all the ways for the crew between decks are independent so crew members can move without interfere with guests. The small sunbathing area at the very top of the boat also meets the owner\u2019s request for privacy. He\u2019d like to have a very secluded sunbathing area for him and his wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Margherita Casprini collaborated with me on all aspects of interior design. The interior had to be cosy and welcoming, to enable guests to feel at home. This was achieved by putting an emphasis on matching the same materials in different ways to distinguish every space while keeping the same atmosphere. The owner\u2019s office is elegant yet essential, the VIP is a distinctive space thanks to materials combination, where wood matches to black lacquered surfaces, the upper deck is a multipurpose area with so many spaces included in a wide one \u2013 a sushi bar, a round gamble table, a wide living room aft with a big screen and a fireplace, an informal saloon convertible into an additional guest room forward. It reminds of a welcoming home while the lobby with the low sofas on the main deck recalls a winter garden surrounded by glass walls with no boundaries between interior and exterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The interior landscape gives centre stage to the beach club featuring two sliding doors and the stairs covered with slate, a space apart onboard, separated but strictly connected to the main deck and the sea, a peaceful place where you to relax as the smooth carpet on the floor seems to suggest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, the skylight on the upper deck. It\u2019 s very different from any other we designed so far as light combines with water.
